A new report is raising concerns over General Mills’ new cereal line after testing revealed that Trix LOADED cereal is literally loaded with high levels of heavy metals and agrochemicals.
General Mills, Inc. on Feb. 1 launched “LOADED,” a new cereal line with “puffed-up larger-than-life squares” of General Mills’ Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Trix, and Cocoa Puffs cereals filled with artificially flavored vanilla creme. Trix LOADED boasts 17 grams of whole grain per serving and 12 vitamins and minerals. Yet testing by Moms Across America (MAA), an organization dedicated to educating and empowering others to create healthy communities, found the artificially flavored creme-filled breakfast food also contains measurable levels of aluminum, cadmium, arsenic, lead, glyphosate, and pesticides shown to be harmful to humans.
In a statement to The Epoch Times, MAA director Zen Honeycutt said her organization tested two samples of General Mills’ Trix LOADED cereal because they were alarmed that the company, which had previously seemed very committed to supporting regenerative organic agriculture, launched a cereal “loaded with creme, food dyes, and highly-processed foods.”
Pesticides Found in General Mills’ Trix LOADED Cereal
In test results obtained by MAA, scientists found residues from eight different pesticides in both samples of Trix LOADED cereal.

The following six pesticide residues were found in trace amounts:

• Pyraclostrobin-1
  
• Pyrimethanil-1
  
• Pyriproxyfen-1
  
• Tebuconazole-1
  

Two pesticides, piperonyl butoxide-1 (PBO) and fluopyram-1, were detected in higher amounts. Fluopyram-1 is a broad-spectrum fungicide that can cause liver problems, endocrine disruption, and thyroid cancer.
Piperonyl butoxide (PBO) is a man-made pesticide synergist that enhances the potency of certain pesticides designed to kill insects. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) classifies PBO as a “possible human carcinogen” as studies in rats show PBO can induce thyroid and liver cancers, as well as noncancerous tumors.
More recent animal model studies suggest PBO exposure can cause neurodevelopmental abnormalities in utero and liver cancer. A 2021 study published in Reproductive Toxicology found PBO may cause male infertility and reproductive toxicity.

A couple of years ago on ATS I started a thread called "The adventure of publishing a book", trying to journalise the different stages of getting my first books from manuscript into print. I've just had another book published (what do you mean, you've never heard of it?), and I'd like to do something similar for the still-new process of trying to get one better known with a bit of publisher support. The first time round, I was giving them regular plugs on my Twitter account with a few campaigns of Promoted Tweets, and I'm sure that was the reason why the titles were getting high placings on Google queries. But the sales figures told me later that Google is not enough.

PPP (as I've been calling it for some time now) came out on the day before Good Friday. In the morning, a big box landed on my doorstep with a couple of dozen copies and some promotional material. Then I was rather alarmed in the afternoon to receive an e-mail from the publishers saying they had prepared a book trailer for me. How many books would this trailer be carrying, when would it arrive at my front door, and where would I store it all? It was something of a relief to click on the link provided and discover they meant the attached video clip.

That was the digital marketing department. I would quite like to hear soon from non-digital marketing. E.g., I need to know what their plans are about review copies. I can send out a few review copies and gift copies of my own, once I've dealt with "friends and family", but I don't want to overlap. And advertising. All I could afford the first time round was classified ads ("The Christian Century" and "The Spectator"), and it doesn't look as though that got me anywhere. Though I've now signed up to be able to campaign on Reddit, where it should be easier to define the target audience. That's in addition to offering book recommendations when I comment on questions.

And what to do with the promotional material? I'm not sure where to send those bookmarks. There are 100 copies of an order form, with a retail price in pounds and euros. I can't send those to bookshops, because they say nothing about discounts. Theology colleges for their students, rural deans (I'm an Anglican) for their clergy, very large churches for their congregations? Anyway, I'm going to advise the publishers to update those forms. They are still couched in terms of ordering books by post and paying by cheque, at a time when cheques in this country are growing obsolete even faster than cash.

And there are ten posters designed to promote "Meet the author" days. I was rather hoping the publishers themselves would be arranging things like that. Or is my agent supposed to do it? I need a literary agent. Where can I get an agent? I was hoping to make contact with one at the London Book Fair last year, but ran into the Catch-22 situation that I should have set up an appointment first. Got to make contact before you can make contact.

Anyway, I've kept the lanyard. Waste not, want not. It won't be the last time I want to walk around a place identifying myself as an author.

I knew this was coming and decided to look for a live feed on YouTube. I missed the actual launch but at 1 minute and 13 seconds after liftoff, when the rocket had already gone supersonic and reached max Q – the point of maximum aerodynamic pressure, I ran outside to snap some pics

Facing west toward California, with a 10’ high block wall around my compound, I couldn’t see low on the horizon but the launch was already visible. I was surprised how high it was already only about a minute and 20 seconds after launching.



It was really moving



I zoomed in for a closer look. You can use the A/C unit and roof vents for reference.

I then ran around to the other side of my house and looking over my gate facing south, I snapped this. According to timestamps, this was about 7minutes after launch.



After a few minutes, I then looked back to the west to see the trail that remained

Written ancient History about the rise of mankind's intelligence and religion. Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians and Babylonians all seem to tell a similar story about ancient times and the first created human boy named Adamu and Heeva the female which came later.

Noah (not his original name) and the great flood stories which predate the Old Testament by several hundred if not thousands of years. I like the stories by all the different ancient people and find them interesting whether true or not. That many different stories from widely separate civilizations all telling of a great flood to me means it probably happened and if I had to guess it was around 13,000 years ago when the ice sheets started rapidly melting. 

My faith in some of the translations (Zecharia Stichin comes to mind) and his telling of the ancient stories is questionable as Zecharia was not even close on his translations which have now been proven false by people who can actually translate the ancient text..

Typical WF episode which explains some of the stories and then methodically debunks many of the claims that have been made... However there is more to this story than what Zacharia Stichin claimed or Ancient Aliens on the History Channel.

Heard of Project Tattletale? It's a nickname for the once highly classified GRAB satellite, the world's 1st intelligence satellite.

    This is the backup for the first Galactic Radiation and Background satellite (GRAB-1), the world's first successful reconnaisance satellite. Built by the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), GRAB-1 was launched on June 22, 1960, as part of a highly classified program designed to obtain data on Soviet air defense radars for use by the U.S. Strategic Air Command in developing electronic countermeasures and the most effective bomber routes. The satellite also carried instruments to measure solar radiation, part of an unclassified and publicly-acknowledged project dubbed Solrad. Five GRAB satellites were launched from June 1960 to April 1962, but only the first and third reached orbit. The program was declassified by the Navy in 1998, and the NRL donated this artifact in 2002.

These satellites had a dual function: The Solrad payload was a scientific radiation experiment, while Grab, also known by the Naval Research Laboratory's designation Dyno, was the first ELINT/SIGINT mission conducted in space. Grab was, when the name emerged, reported to be an acronym for "Galactic radiation and background", which, in fact, it never was.


The "Galactic Radiation Background Experiment" (Grab) was a US Navy electronic intelligence (ELINT) satellite system that became operational in July 1960 and was operated until August 1962. Grab was officially declassified in June 1998 during the 75th anniversary celebration of the Naval Research Laboratory [NRL]. Grab obtained information on Soviet air defense radars that could not be observed by Air Force and Navy aircraft flying ELINT missions along accessible borders in Europe and the western Pacific. From 500 miles above earth, safe from surface-to-air missiles, the Grab satellite's simple, circular orbit passed it through the energy beams from Soviet radar whose pulses traveled straight and far beyond the horizon into space.

This ELINT satellite system was proposed by NRL in the spring of 1958. In parallel with exploratory development by NRL, the Office of Naval Intelligence obtained endorsements endorsements of Project Tattletale from elements of the executive and legislative branches of the US government. With positive recommendations from the Department of State, the Department of Defense, and the Central Intelligence Agency, President Eisenhower approved full development on 24 August 1959. By then, the project had been placed under a tight security control system (Canes) with access limited to fewer than 200 officials in the Washington, DC area. Development and interagency coordination proceeded as the Grab (Galactic RAdiation and Background) experiment.

The NRL Naval Center for Space Technology (NCST) designed and built the Grab satellite and a network of overseas data collection facilities. The first launch was approved by President Eisenhower in May 1960, just four days after a CIA U-2 aircraft was lost on a reconnaissance mission over Soviet territory. The Grab satellite got a free ride into space in June 1960 with the Navy's third Transit navigation satellite. Grab carried two electronic payloads, the classified ELINT package and instrumentation to measure solar radiation (SolRad). The SolRad experiment was publicly disclosed in DoD press releases on this and subsequent launches. Four more launches were attempted, and one was successful on 29 June 1961.

Grab received each pulse of a radar signal in a certain bandwidth, as sensed by its tiny antennas, and transponded a corresponding signal to collection huts at ground sites within its field of view. Operators in the huts recorded Grab's transponded information on magnetic tape and couriered it to NRL for evaluation. NRL evaluated, duplicated, and forwarded to the NSA at Army Fort Meade, Maryland, and the Strategic Air Command at Offut Air Force Base Omaha, Nebraska, for analysis and processing. The National Security Agency and the Strategic Air Command exploited Grab's data to develop technical intelligence about Soviet radar and to develop effective war plans. SAC's processing was aimed at defining the characteristics and location of air defense equipment to support building the SIOP (single integrated operations plan), a responsibility of the Joint Strategic Targeting Staff at Offut AFB. In searching the tapes for new and unusual signals, NSA found that the Soviets were already operating a radar that supported a capability to destroy ballistic missiles.

Grab has been renamed Poppy in late 1961. The Director of Naval Intelligence exercised overall control. Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara formally established the NRO on 14 June 1962 by a top secret directive, and the Grab technology was then transferred to the NRO.

All but Poppy-2/Solrad-4B were launched piggyback with Transit satellites or in clusters. The last satellite was never launched and was donated in 2002 to the National Air and Space Museum.

Courageous and innovative thinkers from intelligence, academia, military, and private industry came together under the mission of pursing a peacetime strategy of national reconnaissance. The office would later be known as the NRO.

Their sense of urgency, excitement, and commitment to the mission was so high that they could hardly wait to get to work each day, but their work was also nerve-wracking, frustrating, and occasionally heartbreaking. Often, what could go wrong, did.

In a memorable speech from former CIA Director George Tenet at the NRO 40th Anniversary Gala on September 27, 2000, he told the story of one of GRAB’s more notorious moments:

One of its more spectacular failures rained debris down on Cuba. Havana charged that a cow was killed in a deliberate US action. The Cubans soon paraded another cow through the streets with a placard reading: “Eisenhower, you murdered one of my sisters.” It was the first – and last – time that a satellite has been used in the production of ground beef. The episode has gone down in history as “the herd shot round the world.”

Still, the unheralded successes of America’s first satellite reconnaissance system vastly exceeded its momentary failures. GRAB later gave birth to CORONA, which captured more usable photography on its first operational mission than all previous U-2 flights combined.

Today, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, our satellites—starting with that first GRAB system that was once thought an impossible dream—provide America with a commanding information edge over all other nations in the world.
