Nebuchadnezzar is still being a bad baby.
He has gotten a bit longer and taller, but he is still only 8 pounds. I think he is going to be a forever kitten.
He still keeps us laughing with his antics, and he is always up to something, or sleeping.
He is lying next to me sleeping as I type this. But the moment I stand up. or Mother comes into the room. he will be following us around like a shadow.
My nephew says he has more personality than he has ever seen in a cat. He loves playing. He drives Enoch and Sylvester crazy. Enoch acts like his kookie favorite Uncle, and Sylvester acts like a grumpy grandfather.
Mom starts her radiation treatments next week. I am sure he came into our lives to help her through this stage of her journey. He really brings her a lot of pleasure.

I had a late night last night. I didn't get to bed until the wee morning hours, so I slept in super late.
I awakened to the sound of laughter echoing through the house. Accompanied with the sound of a tiny low rumbling. I looked outside the hallway and saw this little black streak running from room to room and jumping on his his newly acquired brothers, bouncing off them, then running around to come back to jump on them again.
They both seem to be growing more tolerant by the day, because they were ignoring him. But Mother was sitting on the couch cracking up.
It was indeed hilarious watching him live up to his name, "Bad Baby".
My heart is always joyful when I wake up to the sound of my Mother laughing.
Good news and bad news.
Mom's whole body scan came back showing only a tiny area of metastasis to the lower lobe of her left lung. She starts radiation tomorrow, so they are going to rescan her 4 months after she finishes the radiation to determine what the next stage of her therapy will be.
She feels great. She is enjoying life. She is still serving God and her community. She won't live forever, but she is enjoying every second she has left.
I hope I grow up to be just like her.

Nebuchadnezzar was being a Bad Bad Baby today.
The chair I normally sit in is a recliner. It has 5 lighted buttons. Legs up, legs down, head rest up, head rest down, and a light button.
When I am sitting in this chair and Nebuchadnezzar comes and sits in my lap, I usually lift my legs to give
him a larger more comfortable lap.
Well today my Mother sat in the chair I normally sit in. Nebuchadnezzar jumped in Mom's lap and got comfortable, then reached over and put up the legs. Mom thought it was accident, so she put the legs back down. Nebuchadnezzar just reached over and put the legs back up again. Mom put them back down, she said when he reached over and put the legs up again, is when she said to herself, that darn cat knows exactly what he is doing. She said she gave him the sit and went back to her own chair.
Nebuchadnezzar was really in Bad Baby mode today.

Nebuchadnezzar is always coming up with something that makes me e go "hmm"?
When I came in from work Nebuchadnezzar came over meowing and rubbing against my legs.
I made the the mistake of asking him what he wanted. He yipped, ran into the kitchen and sat in front of the door.
I said to him, "There is nothing in there for you", and went to my room to change my clothes, he followed me to my room yeowing the whole way. After I got out of my clothes, I looked down at him and made the same mistake again, asking him what he wanted. This time he took me to me to the storage room where I keep the pet food, and sat there patiently waiting for me.
Now he has free access to his dry food. But he wanted some wet food. And he knows exactly where to find it.
They say that Bombay cats are more like dogs than cats. Well Nebuchadnezzar surely lives up to that one.
I am going to change his nickname from Bad Baby, to Bad Brat.

My sister nicknamed him well.
Thanks to her he is not just a bad baby, he is also a spoiled brat. He thinks everything belongs to him, including the humans.
I think the reason the rest of the pack spoils him is because he is so little.
Bellah is absolutely obsessed with him. I think because he is so playful. He wants to play nonstop, to the point of being an annoyance. Just like Bellah.

Nebuchadnezzar has been in Bad Baby mode today. He is being bad, clever, and sneaky.
The cats have dry food freely available, but they are given a half can of wet food twice a day. Mother usually is the one that gives then their treat. After all, she is the Nana.
Today she was busy, so when it was treat time they were harassing her, and she could not get her task done, so I decided to be the one to feed them. It went well until Mother finished her task. Nebuchadnezzar soon after her return, reminded her that she had fallen down on her job.
He followed her tighter than her shadow, and constantly yeowed every time she sat down. Mother finally gave in and asked him what he wanted. She stood up and he quickly ran off to the door of the food room. He sat there waiting for her to come around the corner, and the moment she did, he stood on his hind legs trying to turn the knob on the door.
Mom told him, "Nebuchadnezzar, you already had your snack". I swear it sounded like he said "No!". Mom said, "Yes you did." "Aunty gave it to you." Then it sounded like he said, "You." "Now". All quiet with his head hanging down.
I stepped in and rescued the Nana. I told Nebuchadnezzar, "You already had your midday snack, and you will not be getting anymore until your bedtime snack". He looked at me, and walked away with that innocent look with a flash of defiance, and I knew he was saying under his breath, "Bitch".
No conning the Nana today. Aunty is home.

Nebuchadnezzar sure knows how to tell time.
Just as the clock was getting ready to strike 8pm he went over and told Mom, "Now?"
She gave them their bedtime snack so she is back in his good graces.
He is going to hate me soon, because it is near time for me to take him for the little "snip snip".
He is now big enough and healthy enough to have the fix. I am wondering how much it will affect his personality and behavior.
We will see.

Nebuchadnezzar is definitely in Bad Baby mode this morning.
He is chasing, stalking, and attacking everyone. Enoch is at the top of the list, then Sylvester runs a close second. The dogs are next. Bellah at the top of the list. Bellah is obsessed with Nebuchadnezzar, she is totally mesmerized by him.
Next is an equal standing of Maxx and his daughter Tamar, and Goliath is last because he is a poor play mate. He just lays there and ignores him mostly.
And of course, us humans don’t get a break either. He runs and grabs our feet when we walk, making us drag him across the floor. Or he will run and plop down in the chair just before we sit down. One of these times we are going to step on him or sit on him.
He seems to be one happy cat. The tiniest thing in the house and he thinks he rules us all. Our little King Nebuchadnezzar is making up for his near death experience, and hard beginnings.
He is full of mischief and joy. I am amazed at how he manages to capture the heart of almost anyone he meets.
Never a dull moment with K-Neb in the house.

I have been abandoned!
Nebuchadnezzar does not sleep with me anymore.
Mom had her third week of radiation and she is starting to wind down. She tires very easily.
The weirdest thing is that Nebuchadnezzar slept with her that night. I thought it was because she went to bed early, but he has been following her like he is her Siamese twin, and has been sleeping with her ever since. Even when she goes to bed late.
She claims to be annoyed with him, but I know it gives her comfort, because if she didn't want him in there she would kick him out, the same way she does Sylvester and Enoch when they get on her last nerve.
I hope he doesn't know something I don't know. But I refuse to allow it to do anything but give me pleasure. There will be plenty of time to mourn. Right now I am laughing and dancing.

i had a feeling when you posted about her laughing watching him play it was gonna happen, he's there to comfort for your mom. he knows it and i bet she does. as far as knowing something, you don't, i'd say that he knows she doesn't feel good, not that time is neigh. could be wrong but i think he just wants to make her feel better.

I know you are right.
Mom is strong, her faith is stronger. She is fighting this thing tooth and nail. Not because she is afraid of dying, but because her greatest fear is being a burden to her children
She says there is something special about Nebuchadnezzar that she can't put her finger on.
We found Nebuchadnezzar less than an hour after Mom got her diagnosis of breast and lung cancer.
I think he was sent to help here through her journey. He has been an immense joy for her. They have bonded in a unique way.
It is so funny how defiant, strong, brave, and funny they both are. She can't put her finger on why he is so nospecial, because the are so connected.
