Something I've been thinking about.
Our annual meteorite showers are caused by the Earth passing through the dbris fields that comets leave in their wake as they pursue their orbits.
If, as they say, this object is an interstellar comet, and if, as they say, it is passing in the plane of the ecliptic, then at some point the earth will pass through it's debris field, giving birth to yet another meteor shower.
Some of those meteors will inevitably become meteorites by landing on the earth's surface.
At some point, one or more of those meteorites will be recovered...
... and we will have our first documented samples of material created outside of our solar system.
I've yet to hear anyone else mention that intriguing possibility.
