Can Someone Fix This???....Please

I've observed a problem which is kind of a PITA.  I like to request it be fixed.

If a person replies to a thread, a new 'reply' shows up.  And, if that same person replies again (with another, or 2nd, 'reply") to the same thread, but before any other member replies after their first reply, then the 2nd reply is appended to the 1st reply in the same reply box.  This makes it appear like the two different replies are in fact only one (now longer) reply...like the 1st reply was 'edited' to add the 2nd reply to the first reply.  There really isn't any delimiter which separates the two replies, and there should be.  This is confusing to the reader, especially if the 2nd reply is to a different poster than the 1st reply.

Often times I might reply (separately) to two different posters in a thread.  But if no one replies to the thread before my 2nd reply, then the 2nd reply and the 1st reply wind up looking like they were combined into a single reply.  It also annotates the 1st reply with an 'edited on xxx' text in the header (which is incorrect).  In other words, if I make 2+ rapid fire replies, they show up as one reply.

I have had to insert multiple line spaces and a dotted line (i.e. "------------------------------------------------") to separate my two replies because it's such a pain and so confusing.  But there's even some more...

This erroneous functionality isn't consistent either.  Sometimes a 2nd reply will actually display correctly as a two different/separate replies each with it's own textbox, but not always.  What seems to drive a reply showing separately, or combined, is the amount of time which elapses between the 1st and 2nd reply.  I haven't tried to zero in on what this countdown clock is set to, but it's definitely more than just a couple minutes.  As noted above, I try to delimit the replies with a dotted line to separate them, but when a reply does in fact display correctly, then there's this unexplained dashed line at the top of my 2nd reply (for no real reason) which I have to edit out to delete.

I think I have brought this same issue up previously.  Would really appreciate someone looking into a fix for this, because it looks pretty bad.

Long explanations are fine - they help me zero in on the problem encountered.

Unfortunately, I may not be able to do much in this case. It's not something that has ever happened to me, although just going by the appearances of some posts, I suspect it may have happened/ be happening to a couple other members It may be a function of the MyBB underlying forum software, or it may be a function of how that software is interacting with some browsers, but not others. Either way, that software is not my code, it's someone elses, and so it is most likely that the only thing I will be able to do is escalate it by reporting it to the MyBB team to see if they have a fix.

What browser and what sort of device and operating system are you using when it happens? For example, I'm using Opera browser on a Linux laptop.

Firefox on a Windows 11 box.  (pretty vanilla.  Everything is up to date.  No blockers running other than OEM FF. No Add-ons running. Cookies and caches all dumped and cleared out at the end of every browser session. Full virus scans every 24 hrs, and active scanning on. Clean login every session here.)

I think you can replicate the problem (anyone can).  Just make two rapid fire replies to a test OP, and you'll see it too, and see what I mean.  From what I can see, it happens to everyone who makes two quick replies in a row (two replies intended to be separate replies).  It does not appear to be a user related issue.

I observed this same behavior on MPP several months back.  I brought it up to them and they were able to correct it right away leading me to believe it was just a simple config change.  I have put out an inquiry over there asking what the fix was so I could share it here.  If/when I get a response I will post it here.

ETA - I also have Opera, Chrome, and Edge (yuck!) available, so I can test across those three if you like, but I wouldn't anticipate anything different on those platforms.

Nope, that didn't replicate it on my end.

Don't worry about testing other browsers just yet. I'm more interested in your primary, since that is where the anomaly is showing up. I won't be able to replicate the problem exactly, because I do not now, nor will I ever, run Windows 11 SpyOS. I won't run any Windows beyond Windows 7, because that was the last M$ OS that wasn't along the spectrum in incrementally taking possession of the user's computers on behalf of M$ and transferring ownership from the user to M$.

Hence my move to Linux, and only occasional use of Win7, never anything higher. I have a really weird idea that if I pay for a machine, I should retain ownership of it until I voluntarily sell it to someone else. I know, call me a throwback or anachronism. I'm old fashioned.

FCD - I noticed that problem 2 or so years ago when this site was being setup. I reported it at the time but this little annoyance paled compared to the bigger problems. By the time those bigger issues were fixed I had forgot about it.

In this case I just insert the member name to whom I'm directly replying to, like above.

Besides, too much tinkering around might cause a major break.  That's what happened many times back then. Don't know about now and if Ninurta can't reproduce it then it is what it is.

If there were dozens on this site it would be an issue vs annoyance. Ok, I'm different.

Just my 2cents.

If you add ten emojis or ten images in a post it will not append your post. I know that doesn't help just something I noticed a long time ago since I'm a heavy image poster.
