The decline started at the same time as the internet went sour. Bots, sock puppets, and TDS sufferers abounded. ATS was attacked relentlessly until demise. DI was started by those that destroyed ATS, with a few exceptions I expect. The truth must not get out there! P
RE: Deny Ignorance is shutting down - LightAngel - 03-17-2026 If we want to be a strong force against "evil" then we have to stick together people. I like this site, and I also like DI. I wish we could just get along.

I recently had occasion for some back-channel communications with some other folks wherein I promoted that very idea, which is also the way I see it. I'm not big on board wars. They're exhausting, with rarely ever a "winner". Instead, it's my belief that forums such as this, DI, and all the rest ought to get along and help one another, making the whole stronger and less susceptible to external attacks. For example, as happened here, one could provide safe refuge when another is under the gun. That would tend towards the membership being less scattered, and more secure, knowing there is always an alternate place to light and co-ordinate.. Also as has happened here, one can be a rally point for information when another is under attack or experiencing technical problems - when our bot attacks started giving us trouble, DI was available as a place where we could let folks know what was going on, and how it was being addressed for repairs. That has an effect of reducing anxiety among the membership and making them feel more secure - they know what is happening, and that steps are being taken to remediate it, so they're not just left swinging in the breeze all alone. My point is, we're all stronger when we are in the same harness, pulling in the same direction. We don't have to see eye to eye on everything, but neither do we have to fight over members. It's entirely possible to be a member of multiple forums and still contribute. Each board has it's own individual "flavor", and some folks will naturally gravitate more towards this one or that one, but that doesn't mean everything has to devolve into a fight between boards. It just means people are more comfortable with one format or another, with what one board may concentrate on that another doesn't. I personally don't see that as a reason to start throwing punches or "ban" members because they may also be a member elsewhere. I don't see it as a reason to suppress mention of one board on another. ATS was pretty bad about that. If folks are more comfortable elsewhere, let them go there with blessings. If it's done right, whatever they may do "over there" is eventually going to find it's way back to you as well, because good information tends to spread. Petty jealousies are unbecoming of the "conspiracy theory" community, in my opinion As with other areas of life, they are just damaging and unproductive, not only to the "opponent", but also to the Self. I think we should recognize our differences, sure, but also our similarities, and celebrate both - it can only make us ALL stronger in the end. Sort of the way alliances do in the geopolitical world. Various Oriental nations have a phrase for the concept - "Gung-ho", "Cong-wa", etc. They all mean the same thing - "work together" or "pull together". More outlets for information dissemination can't be a bad thing, so why penalize one another or the membership for doing so? . And if the new owner has "other plans". well...... RE: Deny Ignorance is shutting down - Freija - 03-18-2026 Oopsie! Guess I said the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person? I'm fine with this. I'll just add it to the 5 times I was banned from ATS to make an even half dozen. What on Earth did you say, or to whom, to get banned? . RE: Deny Ignorance is shutting down - Freija - 03-18-2026 I'd rather not air dirty laundry in public but cay before yesterday TSK replied to a friendly and kind PM I sent about a month ago. Yesterday I replied briefly to his less than friendly and kind response in a tone matching not so polite and congenial way. Today I am banned. I'm honestly surprised it took a day. Maybe one day in the future when he is out of the picture, I might try for reinstatement but probably not? I really don't care. RE: Deny Ignorance is shutting down - Michigan Swamp Buck - 03-18-2026 I can't "contact an administrator". You have to sign in to do that. Once suspended, you can't sign in or even lurk without signing in. You'd have to use a VPN or use another browser to even lurk without signing in. All I did was make my contact link a disposable chat room for private chatting, then mention it here and on Cyber Age as a workaround for their eavesdropping. One of their stooges reported me to their boss, and I got the axe. RE: Deny Ignorance is shutting down - sahgwa - 03-18-2026 DI has a great format, but the owners/ TSK are douches and the censorship was out of hand. I look forward to participating more here if time allows. I am glad the format got more readable, the colours were really hard at first. Also the size. Keep on rockin oh- This whole thing about it NOT going away and hiim using donations for WHAT?! (Myke prepaid the whole domain for a decade?!) just points to money grubbing shitbagginess. Ksihkehe and I will be covering all the crap that went down with DI, including the BTC donations and grifting, hacking, censorship, banning for questions, staff support, etc. We believe the community deserves the full story. We'll also be covering other topics but will be focused on the info in these threads: The ATS Archive and ATATW. As they seem the most pertinent to recent events. Anyone with questions or if you just want to argue, , is welcome to join us live or after the show in the thread.I figure, screw it, let's get it ALL out there, this community has been in the dark long enough! Put this to rest, once and for all. If there are any changes, I'll post here. Also, if you're not the type to participate in podcasts, feel free to ask whatever questions you have here and I'll be sure to include them! Keep it civil, please! Well, in a way it's turned out to be a blessing, as, our forums all communicate and possibly collaborate now, instead of keeping secrets from membership. We're a little more spread out, but still one community, really. A birdy told me you have a forum too? I'd like a link to your forum too, please. I don't want my money back, just hoping it ends up in good hands.
