A Navy Captain friend (retired) who worked at the same airline used to say there were no bad Naval aviators as all the bad ones were at the bottom of the sea. He was a great golfer and tennis buddy of mine and mostly FOS for we had to fire a new Naval Aviator after extra hours training and IOE because he could not land an MD-80 airliner safely.. Barely a controlled crash !
