There was a report about a F-35 having to make an emergency landing after being hit by something over Iran. 

The culprit was probably a heat seeking missile.

Heat seeking missiles have been around for a very long time and were used with great effect by the N.Vietnamese to shoot down helicopters and anything else that produced a heat plume. The missiles used to have a 30 degree cone of engagement which means the missile could lock on if fired withing 30 degrees of the aircraft rear end exhaust plume. 

I know we (USA) had missiles that could lock onto a lit cigarette at a certain distance so you gotta figure the Tech is even more advanced now.  That was the big selling point yet they did not work all that well coming off the rails of a Vietnam USAF F-4 . 1965 thru 1968 Vietnam 224 Aim 7 sparrow missiles were fired at Migs with only 20 hits which used to be typical for our expensive gold plated B.S. missiles and anything high tech defense related . Hey buy this now and if you fund it we will get all the bugs worked out in 5 or 10 years.  By then whatever will be obsolete and the whole buying process can start all over again bugs and all.

The good news is the F-35 with all it's exterior cameras an sensors gave the pilot a heads up about a missile trying to crawl up his ass end.; thus he survived ..

DefenseScoop.com: White House registers new ‘alien’-related .gov domains as DOD tackles Trump’s disclosure directive

According to federal records, the White House just registered two brand new domains: alien.gov and aliens.gov.

The new domains were first spotted by a bot that tracks .gov domain registrations and was initially reported by 404 Media. Right now, they are hosted on Cloudflare servers and aren't connected to active websites yet.

What makes this really interesting is that these domains were pushed through and launched on a Tuesday evening while the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has actually paused accepting new .gov domain requests due to a lapse in federal funding.

This comes about a month after President Trump announced his plans to direct the release of U.S. government records regarding unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) and extraterrestrial beings. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth previously stated that the Pentagon is actively working to comply with Trump's disclosure order.

As a reminder, the Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) currently handles UAP investigations and reports. Right now, they only accept reports from current or former U.S. military, government employees, and contractors, but they do have plans to eventually expand reporting to the general public.

The Pentagon is staying tight-lipped and didn't respond to questions about the domains. However, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly sent an email to DefenseScoop simply saying, "Stay tuned!" accompanied by an alien emoji. Interestingly, Hegseth used that exact same alien emoji on social media last month when discussing Trump's promise to publish undisclosed extraterrestrial records.

DefenseScoop actually updated their article to remove a paragraph speculating that these domains might be related to the administration's immigration policies, so this definitely seems to be UAP-related.

The United States is apparently communicating with anti-government forces through traditional broadcast methods. Voice of America (VOA) and Radio Farda (U.S.-funded Persian-language services) have ramped up programming with news, interviews with opposition figures, and calls for unity against the regime. These operate via shortwave radio (low-tech, hard to fully jam), satellite, and online streams—vital given Iran's internet blackouts.

This has seen the return of numbers stations and encrypted broadcasts: High-frequency (HF) shortwave "numbers stations" in Persian (strings of numbers read aloud) have emerged since early March, potentially delivering coded instructions to assets, opposition cells, or sleepers inside Iran. These are low-tech, resistant to jamming. Just like WW2.

In preparation for Operation Overlord, the BBC's Radio Londres signaled to the French Resistance with the opening lines of the 1866 Verlaine poem "Chanson d'Automne" to indicate the start of D-Day operations under the command of the Special Operations Executive. The first three lines of the poem, "Les sanglots longs / des violons / de l'automne" ("The long sobs of autumn's violins"), would mean that Operation Overlord was to start within two weeks. These lines were broadcast on 1 June 1944. The next set of lines, "Blessent mon coeur / d'une langueur / monotone" ("wound my heart with a monotonous languor"), meant that it would start within 48 hours and that the resistance should begin sabotage operations, especially on the French railroad system; these lines were broadcast on 5 June at 23:15.

Circulating back to modern times...

On a scratchy shortwave signal almost twice a day -- in the early morning and early evening on Coordinated Universal Time -- a man's voice can be heard speaking Persian, counting out a series of apparently random numbers. The numbers are read out for varying stretches of time, followed by a pause in which the word tavajjoh -- which translates as "attention" -- is spoken three times.

The mystery of the transmission transfixed many in the global community of amateur radio sleuths, who have traded notes and tips on the signal, who's behind it, and what its purpose might be.



Five days later, it got more interesting.

Beginning on March 4, the signal started to be jammed, with a cacophonous screech of electronic noise that made it all but impossible to hear the numbers. The original transmission paused for a period of time, then moved to another shortwave frequency.

"It's interesting because it started to be jammed on the initial frequency," said Akin Fernandez, who is widely considered an authority on the decades-old encoded radio technology known as a numbers station. "Someone doesn't want the recipient [of the signal] to hear the numbers."

"It's an adversarial situation, two groups acting against one another. The question [is] who has the technical means to jam a station," Fernandez said. "The United States has the means, which means this is being transmitted by Iran. Or then it could be Iran, which means the United States is the transmission source."

"More likely this is an operation against Iran," he said.

'Absolutely Unbreakable'

Regardless of whose transmission it is and who is doing the jamming -- there are plenty of competing theories -- the mysterious broadcast is a throwback to another era, before the advent of digital encryption used widely in apps like WhatsApp and Signal and other places.

The transmission is called a numbers station, a Cold War-era tool that employs radio transmissions and old-school cryptology to transmit secret messages, usually to spies around the world.

The concept: Using a random series of a numbers, generated by some mechanical or electronic device or something more powerful, a person can send a coded message to another person in possession of a decoder, often called a "one-time pad."

Anyone can listen to the transmission; shortwave transmissions travel long distances, signals bouncing off the atmosphere. But only a person with the decoder key can decipher it. The concept got a cameo in the US spy drama The Americans, set in the 1980s.

Numbers station code is "absolutely unbreakable," said Fernandez, who more than two decades ago published a four-CD audio compendium of hundreds of recordings from around the world called the Conet Project. It's considered the Bible for numbers-station enthusiasts.

"The number keys that are used are perfectly random. There are no mathematical operations you can use on them to brute force them," he said. "And even if the answer gets out, say in proper English, it's not necessarily understandable."

"You can't tell anything about a random set of letters or numbers by their length other than their length. The length of message is not the content of the information being transmitted," he said. "But it is possible to infer the purpose of stations by the length that they're online and the noise they transmit if there is no text message."



The Persian language broadcast is the first new numbers station in years, according to Priyom, a blog run by radio enthusiasts who identified, cataloged, and analyzed the signal. The transmission was first dubbed V32 by a British-based group called Enigma2000. US-based reporter Seth Hettena also highlighted the signal in a blog post on March 4.

The group says its far-flung members have been able to triangulate the origin of the signal's transmitter: "somewhere in an area encompassing northern Italy, Switzerland, western Germany, eastern France, Belgium, and the Netherlands."

That narrowed the possibilities for the owner of the V32 transmission.

And then the jamming started.

Bubble Jammer

During the Cold War, broadcasts such as those from the BBC, Deutsche Welle, and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, among others, were routinely jammed by Soviet bloc authorities who wanted to discourage citizens from getting uncensored information: news about their own countries, or, say, jazz and rock music from the West.

You drown out the incoming broadcast with dissonant noise, something known as a bubble jammer.

On March 4, according to Priyom, a bubble jammer started broadcasting noise on the same shortwave frequency as the original V32 broadcast, rendering it difficult to understand.

The V32 transmissions were interrupted briefly and then switched to another nearby frequency, Priyom said.



"At first the station was thought to be a spy station for the Iran Islamic regime, but when the bubble jammer appeared to jam it, it was an eye-opener," said Mauno Ritola, a database administrator at the Radio Data Center, a German-based radio company.

"It is exactly the same kind of bubble jammer that is used against Radio Farda, VOA Farsi, Iran International TV shortwave relay, and BBC Farsi," he said. "Even Radio Free Iran suffered from it one night."

Radio Farda is the Persian-language service for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, also known as RFE/RL.

As for the source of the transmission, the global radio community has competing theories; many appear to home in on the United States as the originator, potentially sending coded messages to agents within Iran.

Other theories focus on Israel or even Turkey, which is not a participant in the US-Israeli campaign but is a long-established regional rival to Tehran.

Or, the Priyom bloggers posited, it could be a psychological operation: "a pretty visible, single-frequency station, starting up out of nowhere for a prime-time show on the first day of the war, with relatively few reliability features to ensure recipients actually could copy messages in their entirety and without errors."

The CIA did not immediately respond to an e-mailed query from RFE/RL.

Further muddying the waters: ABC News on March 9 reported that the US government had sent an alert to law enforcement agencies regarding "intercepted encrypted communications."

The report did not specify what exactly the transmission was, or whether it was a numbers station signal.

"While the exact contents of these transmissions cannot currently be determined, the sudden appearance of a new station with international rebroadcast characteristics warrants heightened situational awareness," ABC quoted the alert as saying.

WASHINGTON, March 17 (Reuters) - The head of the National Counterterrorism Center resigned on Tuesday, becoming ‌the first and most senior member of U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to resign over the war in Iran, saying Tehran posed no imminent threat to the United States.

"I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war ⁠in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful lobby," Joseph Kent wrote in a letter to Trump posted on X.

The Dragonfly mission to Titan has been in the planning for a number of years and could be one of NASA's most exciting missions , NASA say they are now at the stage of building and testing the car sized Nuclear powered Dragonfly , flight testing will take place late next year.

As well as flying Dragonfly will be able to land on Titan's surface where it will test the Moon's chemistry , geology and atmosphere then fly off to another part of the Moon or perhaps take a trip over one of Titan's methane and ethane lakes and seas.

Dragonfly is expected to launch not before 2028 but I expect that will be pushed back , unless it isn't.

A team of scientists at the New York University Abu Dhabi have been examining data from Curiosity rover in Gale Crater which was once home to a lake , rock formations on the crater floor suggest once they were sand dunes turned to stone due to interaction with water moving bellow the surface.

The discovery sheds new light on how Mars changed over billions of years. It also strengthens the idea that underground environments could be some of the best places to look for signs of past life on the planet.

The research, published in the Journal of Geophysical Research - Planets, focuses on ancient sand dunes located in Gale Crater, an area explored by NASA's Curiosity rover. According to the study, these dunes slowly hardened into rock billions of years ago after interacting with groundwater moving beneath the Martian surface.
