After all the threats and money spent on opposition candidates the once V.P. is now president. He believes in an independent Taiwan and does not want his country to end up as another Hong Kong. WASHINGTON, Jan 13 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden said on Saturday the United States does not support the independence of Taiwan, after Taiwanese voters rebuffed China and gave the ruling party a third presidential term.
Earlier in the day, the Taiwanese ruling Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) presidential candidate Lai Ching-te came to power, strongly rejecting Chinese pressure to spurn him, and pledged both to stand up to Beijing and seek talks.

They're finally admitting it.

Marijuana has medical properties and is useful to treat certain ailments.

We said it back in the 90s as teenager's that we'd see this one day.

Why it took them so long is beyond me (cough big pharma).

The U.S. government has released hundreds of pages of documents related to its ongoing review of marijuana’s status under federal law, officially confirming for the first time that health officials have recommended the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) place cannabis in Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
The 252 pages of documents from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) explain that cannabis “has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States” and has a “potential for abuse less than the drugs or other substances in Schedules I and II.”

Federal health officials said their review found that more than 30,000 healthcare professionals “across 43 U.S. jurisdictions are authorized to recommend the medical use of marijuana for more than six million registered patients for at least 15 medical conditions.”

There exists widespread, current experience with medical use of the substance by [health care practitioners] operating in accordance with implemented jurisdiction-authorized programs, where medical use is recognized by entities that regulate the practice of medicine,” HHS said.
Attorney Matt Zorn, to whom the documents were released, sued the government following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to obtain the rescheduling memo.

And it shook things up, of course.

But doctors said obesity and lifestyle can’t fully account for the plight of the people arriving at their clinics.

Results Global incidence of early-onset cancer increased by 79.1% and the number of early-onset cancer deaths increased by 27.7% between 1990 and 2019. Early-onset breast, tracheal, bronchus and lung, stomach and colorectal cancers showed the highest mortality and DALYs in 2019. Globally, the incidence rates of early-onset nasopharyngeal and prostate cancer showed the fastest increasing trend, whereas early-onset liver cancer showed the sharpest decrease. Early-onset colorectal cancers had high DALYs within the top five ranking for both men and women. High-middle and middle Sociodemographic Index (SDI) regions had the highest burden of early-onset cancer. The morbidity of early-onset cancer increased with the SDI, and the mortality rate decreased considerably when SDI increased from 0.7 to 1. The projections indicated that the global number of incidence and deaths of early-onset cancer would increase by 31% and 21% in 2030, respectively. Conclusion Early-onset cancer morbidity continues to increase worldwide with notable variances in mortality and DALYs between areas, countries, sex and cancer types. Encouraging a healthy lifestyle could reduce early-onset cancer disease burden.

I went to a restaurant with two friends both younger than 30. I have known both for over 10 years . Both were so glued to their phones and when the meal came they had to take pictures of the food with them smiling. Taking pictures of the food is something many do as you can see this going on by the less than 30 types in most restaurants when food is delivered. The restaurant we were at was very nice tropical inside rain forest where many pictures were also taken; the food was good.

There are some youtube videos of people walking into, falling into, crashing various things, while they have their heads in their phones.

More hard times in China as every where I look there are desperate times for the Chinese Peons. Even government workers have had the salaries cut or just not paid at all as even many of the local (call them states/provinces) do not have money to pay their people..

All Americans should be aware that the main target of Godless Marxists is the US Constitution. How are they plan to take it down? By labeling founding fathers of the USA as racists and slave owners. I've been keeping track of this mission and right out of the gate we started having issues. After reading this article a question came to mind.

Did they even miss the trajectory and would have missed the moon entirely; and is this a soft confession of it?

Astrobotic's lunar lander could still make it far enough to reach the moon — but the moon will be in the wrong place when it arrives.

The spacecraft, called Peregrine, has already traveled 200,000 miles away from Earth, which is about 84% the distance to the moon, Astrobotic said Wednesday.
It suffered an accident when it launched Tuesday and started leaking fuel, scotching its chances of reaching the moon as planned.

It was due to run out of fuel on Thursday — but Astrobotic posted an update saying they had figured out how to make it last longer.

Per its estimate, the craft would have propellant until about 7 a.m. ET on Friday.

This means the lander could yet reach the lunar distance — the required number of miles to reach the moon.

But, though it didn't give precise details, Astrobotic was clear that the moon won't be there at the right time. (notice how they worded that. Like it was the moons fault)




As part of Peregrine's flight plan, the lander was due to reach as high as lunar distance. But the spacecraft is then due the circle back toward Earth so it can loop around our planet and slingshot back on to lunar orbit, Astrobotic said.

It would take another 10 days to reach the moon on this route, by which time the spacecraft is expected to have run out of fuel.

Astrobotic's leading theory for the leak is that a valve connecting two tanks failed, allowing pressurized helium to leak into a tank of oxidizer, causing it to burst.

Still, Astrobotic is trying to collect as much scientific information as possible from this attempt and has been racing to extend the spacecraft's operational lifespan as far as it can go.

This NASA-backed mission might ultimately fail to reach the moon, but that's not the end of the space agency's lunar ambitions.

Astrobotic's Peregrine was the first of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Service (CLPS) program, a plan aimed at helping private firms develop lunar landers by contracting them to deliver various payloads to the moon.

There are a slew of private lunar lander missions in the works. Another CLPS mission, operated by Houston-based firm Intuitive Machines, is due to launch in a few weeks.

NASA also aims to push forward its ambitions for a crewed lunar landing by the end of the decade. The agency announced Tuesday it aims to put boots on the moon by 2026 after delaying the mission launch by a year.
