Gather 'round, children. Have a seat around the camp fire, and let old gramps tell you a tale.

It was a few years ago now, back when I was able to get around better than I can today. I was out in the woods poaching  searching for deer sign so as to know where to go and what time of day to go there to get my quota of deer on the first day of deer season so's I didn't have to spend the entire hunting season in the woods among armed and dumbassed Yankee visitors - that's a reipe for gettin' yerself shot by accident, y'know? It was just about this same time of year, early in the fall just before the harvest.

Now, you need to know a little bit of the lay of the land in these here woods. I live on the side of a mountain, a great ridge that separates the waters on the west that flow westward into the Ohio River from the waters on the east, which flow southward into the Tennessee River. A great high dividing ridge, that divides two separate watersheds. The mountain rises to the clouds behind my house, covered in a quilt of forest that hasn't changed much since Methuselah's possum hound was just a pup.

Near the top of the mountain lies a line of rock cliffs where it looks like the mountain tried to outgrow it's blanket of forest. In those cliffs, in a small alcove that nature cut into them eons ago, there is a small cottage or cabin, built, it appears, of field stones. This is a few miles back into the woods, way up high on the mountain. The cabin built of stone in that alcove appears as if whomever built it was trying to camouflage it among the cliffs, building it of stone the same color as the cliffs, and using the cliffs themselves for the left and right exterior walls and the back wall - mostly it looks like a single wall was laid out between two cliffs and a roof plopped onto to it. The roof itself looks old, very old, and has all manner of greenery which has taken root on it and grown into a tangle over the years, further camouflaging the structure.

In the winter time, curls of smoke can be seen emerging from the brush and laurels that cover the roof, wafting upward until it is whipped away and dissipated by the winds before it can fully emerge above the cliffs. You have to be pretty close on to the place to see any smoke at all, although the smoke can be smelled - but not precisely located - for some distance away.

Now given that description of the old cabin, and the fact that it is so far back into the woods, even more so than my place, one might be forgiven for assuming that anyone living there means to be isolated, even more so than myself... and I purely hate what has come to be referred to as "civilization". T'ain't nothing civil about it, near as I can tell.

So anyhow, there I was, just a-minding my own business, slipping through the woods scouting for deer sign, when I found myself near to that ancient cabin in the cliffs. From my vantage point, I could see into the alcove where the cabin resided. There were slight wisps of smoke wafting among the brush on it's roof before rising above the brush and being dissipated by the wind. Bunches of gathered herbs hung here and there in front of the cabin for drying, and there was a medium sized fire burning cheerily in the front yard of the place, with an old iron kettle, the sort that looked like it came across these mountains on some pioneer's wagon two or two and a half centuries ago, suspended on a tripod above the fire, steam lazily rising from it's contents. Nary a sign of a living soul or inhabitant of the structure was in evidence beyond those few meager indicators.

After that brief observation of the place, and desiring to give the inhabitant the privacy they so obviously craved, I simply and stealthily slipped past the scene, and went on my merry way, keeping to my own business and leaving whomever lived there to theirs. It was just the neighborly thing to do.

It was about 40 or 45 minutes after that, and some distance farther along the trail, that things got weird. As you might imagine, scouting for deer sign is not a quick business. You have to move along slowly and stealthily, and keep an eye to the ground as you go in order to ferret out the faintest of signs - a scuff here, a nibbled twig there, the occasional foot print or scat pile, that sort of thing. It's easily missed if you go too fast. So, time-wise, i was well beyond the cottage structure, but distance-wise, perhaps not so much.

It was then that i heard a thin, wispy, papery-parchment voice saying "Yoo-hoo! Little bo-oy!...". Now, you must understand the culture of these hills. You do not call a grown man "boy" unless you're ready for a tussle. I bristled at the appellation, and was about to spew forth a retort of "Boy? Boy HELL! How are you gonna like going home and tellin' your mama that a 'boy' whipped the piss outta you and then whipped you fer pissin'?" when my seeking gaze caught sight of the speaker.

The retort froze on my tongue, and my blood froze in my veins... and that cold seeped into my bones down to the marrow. The sight I beheld was a horror, the likes of which I'd never seen before. To say it inspired fear is an injustice to the word fear. Understand, boys and girls, that I have been around the world 9 times. I daresay that only one other Rogue has been around the world more than I. I have fought wars on 3 different continents. So understand, young-'uns, that when I say I felt fear, it's not a light statement.

I must have pulled a face at the sight, for the apparition began to cackle, a wispy dry cackle that seemed as if you could hear the dust issuing forth from it and peppering the surrounding trees. I had just enough presence of mind to whip out my cell phone and take a few photos to document the encounter.

I present the sight I beheld here. I had to run it through the Rogue Nation Board of Censorship and Other Ugly Things, LLC, in order to post it, and they rubber-stamped over the more objectionable parts in order to protect the innocent, and shield the guilty from shame. So, it's not the original image, but an AI-generated reasonable facsimile of what it was that I saw, suitably redacted to prevent trauma to children under the age of 40. 


What I saw was this:



Then it said, through the hideous cackling: "Boy, have I got sumpin' fer YOU!"

I've never been one to just stand around when danger presents itself. Fight or Flight takes over, depending on what the occasion demands.

I ran.

I ran like Hell, like the Devil's Hounds were nipping at my heels as I went.

I didn't run a little bit, I ran a lot, I tell ya! It's axiomatic that one does not run straight downhill in these mountains, for fear of momentum causing one to do a faceplant and probably break his neck in the effort. Heedless of that warning, I ran straight down hill, only catching the occasional sapling to fling myself off onto a zig-zag tangent in order to avoid a straight-line pursuit. I ran for all I was worth, and the net worth of all my ancestors. I was hauling ass outta there!

Behind me, I heard that same thin, whispery, dry and dusty voice calling after me: "Ya little bastard! Imma gunna gitcha! I'll work the roots agin' ye! I'll fling a hex upon ye! I WILL have ye! I WILL HAVE YE!"... but that only served to spur me onward and increase my breakneck speed in getting the hell out of Dodge. She pronounced "roots" more like "ruts", which imparted an extra layer of ancient chill on her curses.

I finally made it back home, entirely out of breath and unable to speak. My hair had turned two shades whiter during the flight.

That's been six long years ago. Since that day, I have been unable to sleep more than 4 hours at a stretch, and even then my wife stands guard over my sleeping form with a meat cleaver and dogged determination. For 4 hours a day, every day since then, she is my only Sentinel against the horrors that lurk without. Kill the witch or kill me, it doesn't matter - one of us has to go if she gets in.

Now, long ago, my Dear Old Dad told me the secret of dealing with spooks, and haints, and witches and such. He saud "Yuh cain't be skeert of 'em. Yuh treat 'em like reg'lar folk, an' iffen they wants to play that spooky shit, well, yuh make 'em skeert of YOU! That's how yuh git over on a haint of any kind."

Since that time, I've been what gives your Nightmares nightmares. I'm the reason the monster is under the bed - it's hiding from me, and maybe peeing itself a little when I'm around. 

For all that, I seem to have been unable to inspire fear in this old bitch. I dunno why, just as I dunno why it is that no one in my family can have a hex flung on 'em. Hexes just don't take on us, for some reason. I'm sure there IS a reason, but whatever it may be, the tale has been lost in the dim mists of antiquity, and hasn't been transmitted to the present time - for us, it's just a thing that is. Work the "ruts" all you care to, it ain't gonna have no effect on us.

Every year, just about this time of year that I've come to think of as "The Season of the Witch", I feel a sense of overwhelming foreboding. I know she's out there, waiting, watching, biding her time to seize the opportunity in a moment of inattentiveness. I'm determined not to give her that moment.

Twice now, at this time of year and in broad daylight, I've spied her in the woods, lurking, staring, just watching towards the house for her opportunity. It still makes my blood run cold to think of the horror awaiting me. I don't go to the woods any more, day or night. I don't even leave the house at night.

On one occasion, I caught her image in a trail cam, standing on a rock cliff overlooking the house, just standing there... watching...




Life has now become a race. A race between Death and that dreaded instant of inattention, when I hear the chilling wispy, paper thin but triumphant phrase:

"I'VE GOTCH'ER NOW ME BOY-O!!"

After being established by President Donald Trump on his first day in office, DOGE has slashed around $214 billion in estimated savings, or around $1,329.19 per taxpayer, according to an Oct. 4 update.
So far, 13,440 contract terminations totaling approximately $61 billion, 15,887 grant terminations worth around $49 billion, and 264 lease terminations totaling around $113 million have been posted on DOGE’s website.

Quote:Suicide rates among Gen Z adults have unnaturally increased in the U.S. over the past ten years according to new figures.

Axios Notes that there has been a 16.4 percent increase in suicides among the demographic between 2014-2024.

The locations where the rise is most prominent, the report notes are in the South and the Midwest, with black and Hispanic men, accounting for a huge 85 percent of the increase.

A Stateline analysis of data also shows that Georgia experienced the largest increase in suicide rates over the past decade, among 18 to 27-year-olds, with the state’s suicide rate in the age group increasing by a massive 64.9 percent.

North Carolina and Texas both saw a 41 percent increase in suicide rates, while Alabama had a 39 percent spike, and Ohio a 37 percent increase.

Alaska recorded the highest suicide rate among Gen Z, standing at 49 percent per 100,000 people, an increase of more than a third since 2014.



Suicide became the second-highest cause of death among young Hispanics over these years, surpassing homicide. And for young Asians, suicide became the number one cause of death.

Stateline notes that while men are far more likely to take their own lives, the rate for suicide among women has shot up “from about one-fifth of the rate for men to one-fourth in 2024.”

The report quotes American University professor Dave Marcotte, who notes that suicide rates among all age groups had been steadily falling for decades before beginning to rise in again in 2000.

Interestingly, while suicide rates for middle-aged people soon began to fall again, the rates among young people have just continued to increase.

Marcotte explained, “There’s likely no one magic answer to this. Future job prospects for this generation are not what they were for older generations. Today’s generation is not guaranteed a position in society that’s better than their parents. That’s one hypothesis.”

Psychology professor at San Diego State University Jean Twenge suggests that the huge uptake of social media is a likely factor, with those born after 1995 having become adults when smartphones became ubiquitous.

Freud described this instinct as, “An urge inherent in organic life to restore an earlier state of things.” In short, every living organism—by its very constitution—seeks to return to a lifeless equilibrium. The life force (Eros) builds, binds, and preserves; the death force (Thanatos) breaks down, undoes, and dissolves. In human terms, this manifests as aggression, self-destructive habits, and the repetition of harmful patterns:

• Aggression: The death drive projected outward becomes violence or hostility towards others.
  
• Self-destruction: Turned inward, it becomes depression, guilt, or suicidal behavior.
  
• Repetition compulsion: The unconscious urge to repeat painful or destructive experiences—a hallmark of trauma.
  

Freud’s death instinct runs counter to the optimistic view of progress and self-improvement that colored most Western psychology. It suggests that humanity’s worst impulses are not social aberrations, but intrinsic to the species—an inbuilt counterweight to creation and love.

It seems that Thanatos explains Snowflake behavior, or what is widely called Woke. The movement on the whole is self-destructive, repetitious, and insanely aggressive. It’s all about destroying “normalcy,” wrecking the social impulse to law and order, and eradicating anything that is beautiful or joyful.

One look at the Wokians and it’s clear they have no concept of joy or beauty. Wokian art is hideous, while at the same time they seek to destroy humanity’s creative legacy. They have no sense of humor, because they can’t laugh—either at themselves or anyone else.

Homosexuality is fundamentally a denial of creation and joy, which are normal impulses in humans. Related to this is the maniacal focus on abortion, severe body modification, and self-injury. Transsexuality is a profound urge to defile one’s body, creating a freakish representation of reality.

The whole “climate change” movement is clearly little more than a death wish for our species, based on a fundamental hatred of Nature and cyclical time. Despite a profound lack of evidence in their assertions, they cling to the possibility of mass death as humanity is forced back into the Stone Age. This manifests itself as a war on hydrocarbons, which fuel humanity’s rapid progress over the last three centuries.

Wokianism is essentially a self-destructive cult. They modify their bodies and deny their very natures, so that society at large will shun them, thus fulfilling their desire to be victims. And when society refuses to play by their rules, they lash out with violence, hoping for backlash to justify their empty existence and burning desire to be hated and reviled.

Wokianism is fundamentally a severe mental illness. It is a vicious circle of hating one’s self, defiling one’s self, then blaming everyone else for being disgusted and sickened by their gruesome visages. Being shunned in turn feeds into their warped need to be hated, thus justifying their self-loathing.

At a child’s level, it is analogous to annoying someone until they finally lash out, so that the child can run crying to momma, claiming to be the victim, thus getting the attention he craves.

My guess is Wokianism is a pathology rooted in parental indifference. Western parents today are endlessly distracted, ignoring their children in pursuit of instant gratification. The child eventually acts out to get any attention and validation from the parents, even if it’s negative. After years of negative attention from the parents, the child ultimately gets lost in a maze of depression, self-hatred, and violence, thinking they are unworthy of normal love and joy.

Later, strange hair colors, tattoos, facial piercings, and “transgenderism” become the adult version of acting out and seeking any attention and validation they can get. They do everything possible to be rejected, which feeds back into their psychosis. They are so lost in their victimhood that they fail to see they are the cause of their own rejection.

In their desperation to be accepted by anyone, Wokians are easy targets for quasi-religious movements that manipulate psychopathology to form armies of disaffected and disenfranchised human husks. The Wokians are given positive reinforcement for anti-social behavior, and ultimately they become weaponized.

I don’t think there’s any way to repair the damage. One might think psychology would be an answer, but to my mind that is asking a weapon to repair the injury it made. I’m no psychiatrist, but I have seen damaged people driven to ultimate self-destruction by the psychoactive drugs freely dispensed by clinical practitioners. Obviously, a counter-productive outcome.


The problem with the Wokian cult is it is constantly reinforced through mass media, NGO networks, and nefarious individuals who feed off the Thanatos. Until these elements can be eliminated, the Wokians will continue to recruit the damaged souls they create. And they can only recruit, since they can not and will not reproduce.

The most effective solution is to prevent any more damaged souls. Parents need to put down the gee-gaws, turn off the TeeVee, and start paying a lot more attention to their children.

The biggest issue I see today is that we are almost all damaged goods, to one extent or another. Even us old geezers have been exposed to mass media our entire lives, and most of us have no idea how deep the damage goes.

It will require extraordinary self-examination to repair our damage, and a profound act of will to break free of blinky lights in a box and return to a fundamentally healthy way of life. The habit of plunking down in front of the Tube is an addiction as powerful as any drug.

There’s still hope. Cultures here in Southeast Asia are still relatively family-centric, with one parent always at home. In the West, though, things are dangerously dysfunctional. It will take a concerted and unified effort to pull out of the death cult spiral.

In the end, the Marxist/Progressives (Wokians) are lacking a nurturing home life and positive attention from parents, so they turn to government and public institutions to fill that void. The need is so strong that they will destroy civilization to get the warm fuzzies they so desperately crave.

Now I’m just playing armchair psychiatrist here, and I’m not a particular fan of Freud, but in this case the diagnosis seems to be spot on. It also fits the much older yin-yang dichotomy of the human spirit and the Universe in general.

In the final analysis, turn off the box and give the kids a squeeze. Praise them for creative achievements, rather than scold them for destructive behavior. Most importantly, return to the classic definition of “community” as being those people physically around you, and not far-flung strangers whose provenance is uncertain.

Love conquers all.

The reader will have noted that I have placed this story in the "Babylon's Banksters" slot on this website, while the story headline is all about Russia perhaps having operationally tested a non-nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapon in the Ukraine. (with our gratitude), because it not only raises a lot of "high octane speculative implications and questions" but also because it occasioned one of my even wilder and woollier full-on-gallop-to-the-end-of-the-speculation-twig-and-triple-twisting-somersaulting-dive into the canyon below. (Eat your heart out, Wile E. Coyote. )

Firstly, the story:

Did Russia Just Test a New Weapon in Dniepropetrovsk?

Now there is an interesting statement made in this article, one which prompted L.G.L.R. to send along another article in response to it. The statement is this:

Quote:I have credible information with video evidence, that Russia has just tested their new Plasma Burst EMP weapon, again in Dnipro in the night from October 1st to 2nd. These videos are all random dash cam captures and one fixed-webcam monitoring Dnipro. So they are genuine videos. I believe the blackout was caused by the EMP disrupting electric infrastructure. However it is unclear if other missiles and drones were also involved in damaging infrastructure. Upon a high energy pulse within our atmosphere, such force tends to tear Nitrogen and Oxygen Molecules apart. Then, upon recombining to N2 and O2 Molecules (Molecular Recombination), they emit radiation in the blue to ultra violet spectrum. That’s exactly why we perceive lightning as blueish.

There are no reliable publications about a working concept of Plasma Burst EMP. However, we know that the Soviets have been researching Plasma since more than 80 years. Being able to maneuver a Mach10 or 12 Hypersonic Vessel is based upon superior Russian knowledge about Plasma. At such speeds, the Plasma around the vessel is a radio communication barrier. Just like the Space Shuttle when re-entering the atmosphere, there is a 5 Minute radio silence.

We also know that the Russians were conducting intensive research to create such nuclear free EMP on a large scale energy level. On the 2nd Oct. they have given us proof of evidence once again in Dnipro. (Emphasis added)

There you have it: in conventional wisdom, the effects of an electromagnetic pulse can only be achieved through the detonation of a nuclear bomb, even though the effects of electromagnetic pulse can occur in nature, as with a massive solar flare.  But could the effect be artificially engineered and generated without the necessity of blowing up an atom- or hydrogen-bomb?

Here's where the second article comes in:

How does a Plasma Burst EMP work ? what's the minimum charge acceleration needed ? Can the burst be shaped like microwave beams with high directionality ?

The answer to those questions is given in the very opening paragraphs:

Can this effect be directed and controlled? Answer: theoretically, yes, and the technique is to use lasers to create the channel through which the plasma burst travels; think of it as "directed lightning" (grounding all those ancient depictions of the gods hurling [and thus directing] thunderbolts in science itself):

  • Pointing/Tracking: Gimbal-mounted optics or acousto-optic deflectors enable real-time targeting, maintaining <1 mrad beam wander.
    
  • Microwave-Like Focusing: By chirping the laser pulse (varying frequency) or using multiple filaments in an array, the EMP can be shaped into tighter beams (e.g., 5-10° divergence) or scanned like a phased-array radar. THz components behave like microwaves, allowing "painting" a target without collateral spread.
    

Could the Russians be deploying and testing such a technique operationally? Certainly. Indeed, one of the people this author has met personally over the years was a plasma physicist (whose name I shall not divulge but who would be readily recognizable to many readers) who was involved in very similar laser-directed "plasma channel" research.

Ok, so where's the high octane running-nose-dive of speculation?

Most readers will recall that for years I've been warning about the dangers of digital "currency" and its susceptibility to electromagnetic pulse. One day you could be a veritable "King Midas" with a pile of money stored in electronic blips, and the next day all of that, including all records of it, could be potentially wiped out by an electromagnetic pulse. It would by like storing all of your money in a magnetic drive memory, and then storing the memory drive next to a powerful magnet: woops: memory wiped, money gone. So sorry, next customer please. Indeed, I've been so preoccupied with this potential danger that I have often commented on and even blogged about why so many nations around the world are going to the expense and cost of refurbishing steam railroad locomotives to the extent that, like the Union Pacific Railroad in the USA, entire locomotives works have been created to restore and maintain the monsters, thus restoring a minimal manufacturing capability to actually make them. They then steam around the country - like the Union Pacific's restored "Big Boy" and "Challenger" articulated 4-8-8-4 and 4-6-6-4 locomotives - pulling sight-seeing passenger cars, and occasionally (to make the whole enterprise profitable), pulling long freight trains.  Why go to all the expense to restore such machines, to train the crews to run and maintain them, and to create the infrastructure also needed to do so? After all, steam locomotives require water towers, cleaning crews, and so on, dotted around the landscape.

The answer is simple: a steam locomotive is entirely an analogue machine. It will still run, and pull freight, long after an electromagnetic pulse has disabled a typical diesel-electric locomotive, or your car, or your local bank's electronic ledgers, and so on. It's an ironic thought: that the technology impervious to "digital progress" is an older analogue technology. Indeed, the restoration of steam locomotives suggests also some sort of inside knowledge and planning against the electromagnetic pulse scenario. We'll get back to that in a minute. But note,  the same holds true of our monetary and fiscal technologies: physical media of exchange, like coins or bits of paper, are relatively impervious to digital interdictions; blips on a computer screen are not.

And that brings me to advance my wildest scenario yet, in this regard, and it's one that should have occurred to me long ago, because it seems so obvious. For many years, since the financial crisis of 2008, I've been warning about all the "bad paper" sloshing around in the financial system, those credit default swaps and derivatives and "mortgage backed securities" and tranches of tranches and bundles of bundles that have ballooned the derivatives to orders of magnitude more money than the worth of the entire gross domestic product of the entire planet. How does one get rid of that enormous drag effect on the economy and finances of the world?

One method, the scenario I've been suggesting, is to "rebalance" those books with the acquisition of enough hard assets to do it: enter all those multi-quadrillion-dollar asteroids out there, just waiting to be mined.  Think of it as the "Spanish galleon solution" to all that Venetian "cooking of the books through an overly-financialized economy." Failing that, I've also suggested that one could simply claim to have gone out there and gained access to all those hard assets. Such a solution would be a very risky, and very short term, solution, but the game might be played.


But there's another solution, one suggested by the possibility of a non-nuclear electro-magnetic pulse technology. For years we've been hearing about "the great reset", which, upon examination, appears to be nothing more than "the great accounting trick"; it's not really a reset at all, at least, not in the sense of the ancient Sumerian-Babylonian practice of the jubilee(see my book Babylon's Banksters), and the breaking of the tablets ceremony that cancelled all debt because the tablets, the records, recording that debt were broken and the memory of it wiped out.  The books were literally rebalanced by resetting all of them to zero, and beginning the game all over again.

So perhaps, behind all the current nuclear war scare, the agenda once again is really financial, and the debt and bad paper trap is so immense and intractable that the "powers that be" have decided that they need a real "great reset", one that will "break the tablets" and wipe out the records, so that the whole thing can begin again. And electromagnetic pulses, whether nuclear or non-nuclear, might be just the hammer needed to break those tablets.

Washington, Oct. 13, 2025 — From concept to reality in 10 months, Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company (NYSE: LMT), has transformed a UH-60L Black Hawk® helicopter into the S-70UAS™ U-Hawk™, a versatile autonomous unmanned aircraft system (UAS) that has 25% more cargo space than a typical Black Hawk. Sikorsky replaced the cockpit section with actuated clamshell doors and ramp, and swapped conventional flight controls with a third-generation, low-cost, fly-by-wire system integrated with MATRIX™ autonomy technology.

The S-70UAS U-Hawk aircraft on display at this week’s Association of the United States Army exposition shows a larger cabin space to:

• Accept longer cargo, such as missiles,
  
• Drive on/off an uncrewed ground vehicle,
  
• Roll-on/off supplies,
  
• Launch swarms of reconnaissance or strike drones, and
  
• Carry internal fuel tanks for increased range or extended time on station.
  

“Sikorsky is innovating a 21st century solution by converting UH‑60L Black Hawks into a fully autonomous utility platform,” said Rich Benton, Sikorsky vice president and general manager. “We developed this prototype from concept to reality in under a year, and the modifications made to transform this crewed Black Hawk into a multi-mission payload UAS can be replicated at scale quickly and affordably. The U-Hawk continues the Black Hawk legacy of being the world’s premier utility aircraft and opens the door to new capabilities as a UAS.”
Redesign and structural modification of the UH-60L aircraft into its uncrewed U-Hawk configuration is led by rapid prototyping group Sikorsky Innovations. First flight is expected in 2026.
U-Hawk-enabled missions
By eliminating the cockpit and internal components, the U-Hawk has 25% more cargo space than the UH-60L Black Hawk.
Forward loading and additional useable cabin space of the U-Hawk aircraft now offers the flexibility to accommodate oversized loads up to the same maximum gross weight.

• Air-ground team — Drive on/off an uncrewed ground vehicle, such as the HDT Hunter Wolf 6x6 UGV.
  
• Cargo — Transport up to four Joint Modular Intermodal Containers (vs. two today).
  
• Missile transport — Carry a HIMARS pod of six rockets, or two Naval Strike Missiles.
  
• Launched effects — Deploy launched effects carrying sensors/munitions from quivers secured to the cabin.
  
• Endurance — Self-deploy over 1600nm or loiter for up to 14 hours without refueling. 
  

Like a UH-60L aircraft, a U-Hawk variant retains the ability to load cargo from the side door, and externally lift 9,000 pounds (4,080 kg) using its cargo hook.
Operators – not pilots – fly U-Hawks
A tablet gives an operator full command of the U-Hawk aircraft from start-up to shut down.
At the touch of a button, the two clamshell doors open and a ramp lowers to allow easy cargo loading or drive-on capability. To prepare for flight, the automated sequence is reversed.
Once loaded, an operator inputs mission goals via the tablet. The MATRIX autonomy system automatically generates a flight plan, relying on cameras, sensors and algorithms to help navigate the U-Hawk aircraft safely to its destination.
Affordable utility UAS
By removing the cockpit, all seats and crew stations from the aircraft, the U-Hawk helicopter becomes the first fully autonomous Black Hawk utility helicopter.
“The U‑Hawk offers a cost‑effective utility UAS by leveraging commonality with the existing UH‑60 fleet, and its uncrewed nature reduces both operating and maintenance costs,” said Igor Cherepinsky, Sikorsky Innovations director. “We focused on efficiencies in the retrofit by designing and manufacturing vehicle management computers, actuation components and airframe modifications. The twin proprotor design combines the versatility of a helicopter with the speed and range of a fixed-wing airplane. A Nomad aircraft can take off, hover, and land vertically, plus cruise on the wing for extended periods. Nomads are operated via Sikorsky’s MATRIX™ autonomy technology and predominantly use hybrid-electric propulsion, while larger variants will feature a conventional drivetrain.
“We use the term ‘family’ to point to a key attribute of the design; its ability to be scaled in size from a small Group 3 UAS to the footprint equivalent of a Black Hawk helicopter,” said Rich Benton, Sikorsky vice president and general manager. “The resulting Nomad family of drones will be adaptable, go-anywhere, runway independent aircraft capable of land and sea-based missions across defense, national security, forestry and civilian organizations. Sikorsky announced in March 2025 the successful extended flight test of its 10.3-ft wingspan prototype Nomad 50 aircraft. Today, Sikorsky is building its Nomad 100 aircraft. This is a Group 3, 18-ft wingspan variant with first flight expected in the coming months. 
Nomad VTOL UAS 

• Nomad UAS are designed for reconnaissance, light attack, contested logistics and more. 
  

• The Nomad family can be scaled from a Group 3 UAS (56 pounds to 1,320 pounds) to Group 4/5 (1,320 pounds and up). The Nomad family is powered by fuel-efficient hybrid-electric drivetrains, with larger variants featuring a conventional drivetrain. 
  

• MATRIX technology, developed by Sikorsky Innovations and DARPA, is an open system, which allows seamless integration with rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. MATRIX has already been demonstrated across a range of applications, including aerial firefighting, logistics resupply, and advanced aerial mobility.
