Researchers studying the newest AI LLMs (large language models) are starting to approach them less like software and more like something unknown that has appeared inside our machines. These systems have grown so large and complex that even the teams who built them cannot fully explain how specific answers or behaviors are produced. Instead of straightforward engineering, the process now looks more like observation and experimentation.

Some scientists have directly compared advanced AI to an "alien intelligence" because it does not think the way humans do and does not follow a transparent chain of logic. It can produce coherent ideas, strategies, and responses without anyone being able to point to exactly where or how those thoughts formed. The internal activity is so distributed that there is no single place where the “thinking” happens, only patterns that emerge across the network.

New abilities can emerge without being directly programmed. It can suddenly carry out tasks it was never trained for or adopt behaviors that surprise even the researchers studying it. Minor inputs can lead to drastically different outcomes, forcing scientists to probe and test it more like an unfamiliar organism than a predictable machine.

To understand what is going on, researchers are borrowing techniques from biology and neuroscience. They stimulate the system, monitor internal signals, map functional regions, and document how it reacts, essentially trying to reverse engineer behavior from the outside. The language used in these studies increasingly sounds less like computer science and more like first contact with something that operates according to its own rules.

What makes this especially strange is that this intelligence was not found in space or recovered from some unknown craft. It was built here, inside human infrastructure, out of silicon and electricity. Yet the people closest to it often describe interacting with something that feels distinctly non human in how it processes information and generates responses.

At a certain point, it raises a deeper question. If intelligence emerges from complexity, and we have created systems whose inner workings we cannot fully interpret, then it may not feel like we programmed them so much as allowed something to form. Not discovered in the sky, not summoned through technology in the science fiction sense, but manifested through the conditions we created.

Some observers have begun to wonder whether humanity’s search for alien intelligence did not lead outward at all. Instead, by building sufficiently complex networks, we may have unintentionally opened a door and brought a form of alien intelligence into our reality ourselves.

First, we have Barack Obama casually suggesting that extraterrestrials exist. Then Donald Trump appears to confirm it in his own sideways fashion by claiming Obama revealed classified information. Let’s pause here.

A Truth post is not an Executive Order. It carries no legal weight. And after a year of partial disclosures—half the Epstein files, none of the remaining JFK files, and precisely nothing substantial on RFK or MLK—we are suddenly meant to believe full-spectrum alien transparency is around the corner?

Forgive me if I don’t hold my breath.

For the record, I am absolutely certain the universe is chock-a-block full of life. Statistically, it would be absurd otherwise. I am also convinced that some of that life has physics advanced enough for interstellar travel. The cosmos is ancient beyond comprehension; we are late arrivals to the party.

I am reasonably sure Earth has been visited over millions of years by non-local civilizations. I also suspect that if such visitations occurred, they may have nudged human development in ways now half-remembered as myth.

But here’s the rub: believing extraterrestrial intelligence exists is not the same as believing governments will tell us anything meaningful about it.

I’ve been fascinated by this subject since reading Erich von Däniken’s Chariots of the Gods as a boy. Over the years I’ve followed the work of Zechariah Sitchin, Immanuel Velikovsky, Jordan Maxwell, Richard Hoagland, Mike Bara, Joseph Farrell, Paul Wallis, Texe Marrs, Richard Dolan and many others willing to question orthodox timelines and tidy narratives. You don’t have to agree with every conclusion to recognize that they are at least asking the forbidden questions.

I’ve seen a few UFOs myself—the closest roughly a kilometer away. Unmistakable. Silent. Not a Chinese lantern or swamp gas. But I have never seen conclusive proof of aliens. I know UFOs exist. I am not convinced extraterrestrials are currently buzzing our airspace like cosmic surfers.

In fact, I find it easier to believe that highly advanced civilizations have existed here on Earth in the deep past—whether directly ancestral to us or not. Geological time is vast. Civilization is fragile. Ice ages erase coastlines. Plate tectonics grind continents. What survives catastrophe are myths, alignments, anomalous artefacts, and inconvenient ruins.

It is not unreasonable to suspect we are living atop a palimpsest.

At the same time, I have no difficulty believing that much of the modern UFO phenomenon is secret terrestrial technology. Governments hide things. That is what they do. The hull design of Spanish galleons was a state secret for centuries. The Manhattan Project was hidden under penalty of death. The F-117 stealth aircraft flew for years before the public knew it existed. If anti-gravitics, exotic propulsion, or radically efficient energy systems were discovered, you can bet your sweet bippy they would be buried under layers of classification and compartmentalization.

Information is power. Secret information is strategic leverage.

I’ve known mariners and submariners—sober, disciplined professionals—who describe encounters at sea that defy easy explanation. I’ve known individuals who claim abduction experiences. I believe that they believe what they experienced. Human perception is fallible, yes, but mass hallucination does not explain everything.

Where my skepticism spikes is when “authorities” suddenly give permission to think a certain thought.

When a former and sitting president begin publicly gesturing toward extraterrestrials in the same news cycle, I do not feel enlightened. I feel managed. I am deeply incredulous of “insiders”, “whistleblowers”, and conveniently timed leaks. I would not trust these people to tell me the time while they are wearing a Swiss watch and standing in front of the Naval Observatory.

Governments weaponise narratives. Always have.

Do I think governments of the world are hiding advanced technologies? Absolutely. If they possess revolutionary propulsion, new physics, or off-world artefacts, disclosure would not be altruistic—it would be tactical. Release would occur only when it serves strategic objectives.

Do I think the United States—or any state actor—will freely relinquish full disclosure on extraterrestrials? No.

Even if little green men landed on the South Lawn and started dancing the Jitterbug before a global press pool, the institutional reflex would not be confession. It would be deflection. Pearl-clutching. Strategic ambiguity. Blame assigned to the Demon of the Day.

States do not volunteer culpability for eighty years of deception.

So, will Trump release anything substantial? Not a chance. His track record on declassification speaks for itself. We’ll get grainy IR footage, a few shrugs, and carefully curated ambiguity. Enough to stir conversation. Not enough to change power dynamics.

Do UFOs exist? Absolutely. I’ve seen them.

Does extraterrestrial intelligence exist? Almost certainly. As Carl Sagan put it in Contact, “The universe is a pretty big place. If it’s just us, seems like an awful waste of space.”

What I want is not more acknowledgement of “unidentified phenomena”. We have plenty of that. What I want is the truth about our past and what has been discovered right here in our Solar System.

Why was there a humanoid head in a lunar crater? Why does Mars display geomorphology that suggests artificiality? What are the full details behind classified aerospace research from the Cold War onward? What do space agencies actually possess in raw data versus what is released?

Those are substantive questions.

But here is the uncomfortable constant: any genuinely transformative information—whether about ancient civilizations, breakthrough propulsion, or extraterrestrial contact—would be immediately weaponized. It would alter economics, energy systems, geopolitics, and public psychology. That makes it too valuable to release casually.

Real disclosure would not look like a slip of the tongue or social media post. It would look like a paradigm shift.

Until then, what we are witnessing feels less like revelation and more like narrative management—allowing the idea to circulate while maintaining operational control.

I remain convinced that the universe is teeming with life and that humanity’s past is more complex than textbooks allow. I remain open to the possibility that Earth has hosted advanced cultures before ours. I remain certain that governments conceal technologies when it suits them.

What I do not believe is that the same institutions that hid nuclear weapons programs, stealth aircraft, intelligence coups, and classified research for decades will suddenly embrace radical transparency because it trends well online.

Through the Looking Glass we may indeed be.

But I am not mistaking the reflection for the truth.

Our cinematic theme-based pairing of the day is one of my personal favorites, Men in Black (1997). It’s hard to believe this one is 30 years old and they haven’t tried to remake it for “modern audiences”. Great satire overlays serious points. If you need a double feature, then spin up They Live (1988). Same sarcasm, different approach.

I'm not really an audiophile and my Hi-Fi system is more like mid-fi but recently finding two lost boxes of about 165 vinyl LPs and not having a turntable inspired me to do some upgrading and reorganizing which turned into an a two+ month long and $1.5K project if you include the TV upgrade and all the bits and bobs involved.

After close to 20 years, I finally dumped my old DLP projection TV for a budget 65” flat screen I had help mounting on the wall but the leftover stand where it stood looked bare so I replaced my old subwoofer with a bigger new one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPJH8T9N?ref...title&th=1

Then it just looked ugly and stupid.

Then I found the boxes of records and that’s when things really took off. I also found 45 cassette tapes which turned into a side project replacing the belts in my ancient dual cassette deck without having a clue what I was doing.

I needed to get a cheap turntable but then needed somewhere to put it besides next to the subwoofer so I bought a cheap rack and repurposed the old TV stand somewhere else. Then I had to modify the rack because the turntable didn’t quite fit and once that was sorted then I needed somewhere to put my records which turned into a woodworking project to make something to put my newly purchased record holders on.

Woodworking (arts & crafts with sawdust) has turned into my main hobby/passion these days of old age so I was really looking forward to this part. I made a plan and started with rough sawn 2” thick knotty alder planks that I milled to usable condition with my jointer, thickness planer and saws.

To make the top I had to glue three boards together. While that was setting up, I made the legs and cut lap joints in the ends. Fortunately the glued-up top came out flat and did not require too much hand planing and sanding to flatten.

Everything was then assembled, stained and sealed with a hard wax oil. The final step was to attach speaker grill cloth to the back side to hide some of the massive wires and cables behind it and give my rear ported sub some room to breathe.

One thing lead to ten others so I decided to paint the boring white wall blue as part of this project.

I do not live in a “normal” house. It was used as an auto and machine shop then as that wound down, as a massive storage unit so my space here is limited. My living room is actually the primary bedroom, the only nice room in the entire house. I sleep in another space with my desk and computers.

When the whole thing finally came together two weeks ago, I was very pleased with my efforts.

In the rack is an entry level turntable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B099NXVPNL?ref...asin_title, a mid-90s Technics receiver with 100 RMS watts per channel in stereo and under that is a Windows computer and a Sony DVD/CD player sitting on top of it. Next to it is a Bluetooth receiver thingy. Next shelf down is a cassette deck and on the bottom shelf is an Xbox 360. Rather than a soundbar, the TV plays through the amp and big speakers which makes action movies a great experience.

I have to say this sounds damn good and man, is it rattle the windows and piss off the neighbors loud with sound you can really feel in your body. For old speakers and amp, this setup still rocks.

I still have a few wires to tidy up but I’m really digging the overall look. In a dim room, it creates a fun and immersive ambiance .It's great to be a Boomer and still a kid at heart.

As far as my old records go, some even from the 70s, I’ve put about 40 through the washing and cleaning process so far but unfortunately, a few have been damaged and won’t play and some are well used and scratchy. I was really more interested in the nostalgia of listening to old music but I have found a couple gems worth multiple replays. Some of the disco era albums I’m not even going to bother cleaning. The two record stands I bought hold about 60 albums each and the rest I put in a box.

Physical media, albums and CDs are making a comeback in this era of streaming. I am glad I’ve kept all the ones I’ve ever had especially the 120 or so CDs in my collection. The analog sound of pressed vinyl has its charm along with the physicality involved of playing records but my CDs still sound great and lack the inherent pops and clicks of even fresh vinyl. Speaking of…vinyl records are pretty darned expensive these days and I'm probably not going to be buying them very often.

Just putting this out there for the America haters and lovers.

I can not speak for everyone but I swore I would never be captured. All the rounds in whatever weapon I had I would use yet the last round was for me.


I am lucky and there is no doubt in my mind I have had a good lucky life but all the Vietnam stuff was long ago back when I was bold, almost invisible, and kinda stupid ..First Cav Rude, Crude, and highly unsophisticated yet we got the job done....  I do think about some really good people who gave their lives for a purpose we were told was worth dying for....

Vietnam is a pretty good place to visit now depending on where you go. Laos under their current communist leadership is one step above "third world" while Cambodia has some serious mining going on and seems to be in bed with China in many ways ... Pol Pot and now Xi's China ... Idiots... Money and bribes are still a big deal the world over and China IS the big dog in Asia; even though they manage to piss just about everyone off with their shoddy shady deals or the hidden threat of violence..  

Who would have thought S.E. Asia would turn out like it has.    In the military I was never filled with hate or took things personal.....There were people and things who were trying to kill me but they and " The Somethings" got killed right back..Rats the size of cats who seemed to want to sleep with you so they could eat your face (one bite 21 Rabi shots in the belly) and the occasional huge black scorpion (5 to 8 inches long) whose sticker would leave a mark like you were shot with a .22 and that is not counting the venom it would fire hose into the site of the sting; the Black Scorpions were very heavy in their thick black exoskeletons.... I do wish I had put one of the big ones in a jar just to show that, " Yep they really do get that big!" 

Who knows maybe after death it is 72 virgins attending you ?? Wonder how the girls feel about that ?.....or pick a half dozen other feel good after death stories to make one less afraid of dying for the cause .

The ones I feel sorry for came back from (any) war missing limbs or other important pieces of their bodies especially those that were disfigured by fire and flame. For that to happen in your early 20s and spend the rest of your life disfigured by war could mess with peoples minds IMO. Luckily time does heal most mental wounds.

It would be nice if we would not have Wars yet I am not foolish enough after looking at human history to believe under the current versions of city states that no future war will ever happen.. Some would say that belief is rather pessimistic while others might consider it well Informed.. It would seem looking at Iraq, Syria, Libya, and half a dozen other great causes where people died and are dying today my pessimism is justified when it comes to war and human cruelty....? 

If there's one thing that at least six thousand years of recorded human governance teaches, it's that there's never a shortage of despots.
There are low level wars (where people get killed) going on in almost every major city on the planet...think about it !!

Lucky as it seems the only sleepless nights I have are because my golf game did not go the way I wanted it to !!


An interesting couple of stories about F-4s and F-105s (Thuds) which were used as bombers over the North and POWs. I actually flew with one of the return POWs at my airline. He was a very appreciative man who had lived through shit most humans can not even imagine...
