Jan 3, 1947: The first live television broadcast coverage of a congressional proceeding occurred when cameras were allowed into the House Chamber to telecast the opening of the 80th Congress by Speaker Joseph William Martin Jr. However, by 1952 they were banned not only from regular floor sessions but in committee hearings as well.

Concern centered on television's effect on institutional practices and procedures: Which aspects of House proceedings should receive coverage? Who would make that determination? Who would operate and control the cameras? How would Members respond to working under the gaze of the cameras?

In 1997, Will Smith strapped on a Ventura re-issue in the blockbuster “Men in Black” and in 2010 featured a Ventura in an episode of the TV-show “Mad Men”.

President Trump says that the U.S. is going to run Venezuela with a “group,” US oil companies will return to Venezuela.

Compares it to strikes on ISIS leader Baghdadi, Soleimani, and the Iran’s nuclear program.

Says that the U.S. turned the lights off in Caracas. Alludes to some sort of capability.

Trump says that the U.S. will run Venezuela until a proper transition can take place.

No U.S. personnel killed, no equipment lost. Adds that the U.S. is prepared for more airstrikes on Venezuela.

“U.S. dominance will never be questioned again in the Western Hemisphere.”

Helicopters came under fire as they arrived near the landing point.

During Operation Absolute Resolve against Maduro, X-Twitter was running in the background in the Mar-a-Lago situation room, emphasizing how important the information space is even during ongoing operations. Back during operation El Dorado Canyon in striking Libya in 1986 they were watching CNN. I guess that Russian strategic partnership with Venezuela just went up in smoke. Good-bye Chicoms and at least one international bankster family are happy...
