The 51 cal came up through the bottom of the aircraft and hit the flying pilot in the groin removing about 1 pound of flesh and one testicle while continuing it's upward trajectory and hitting the pilot in the right side of his chest before exiting out the top of the cockpit. He grunted and told his co-pilot to take the aircraft as he was hit. He was dead withing 30 seconds of the transfere and many said what a man/pilot he was. One of the guys called B.S. because if he had not been bent over so far while flying the 51 cal round that tried to nueter him would have missed his chest.
