So the play is Witkoff and Kushner, again, demanding zero enrichment, zero reactors, zero ballistic program and zero aid to allies, plus the additional demand of opening the strait. I can't imagine Iran will fall for this "diplomacy" tactic again?!
The US terms for potential negotiations with Iran, if this is accurate, it is curiously concerning that they would entertain a 5 year sunset on a missile program ban and allow them to maintain a stockpile of 1000 missiles. Curious who this US official is who thinks they’ll bite. But given the outlet I bet I can guess…

Trump's team game planning for potential Iran peace talks

Flashback: after Iraq invaded Iran in 1980, Iran refused a ceasefire until 1988, even though Iran had regained its lost territory by 1982. Instead Iran invaded Iraq and continued to fight in the face of Iraqi chemical weapons attacks. Iranian "martyrs" of that brutal war—many of them 12, 13, 14 year old's used in Basij "human wave" attacks.

Issuance of Iran-related General License
On selling the war the narratives are all over the place. Back in 2002, Bush had the majority of public on his side and in we went guns blazing. Though it didn't last long. "Mission Accomplished" turned into a long 20 year guerilla insurgent war. Ironically back then the Shia supported by Iran were fighting alongside the US troops against the ISIS characters. Now, today we're fighting the Shia command central of Iran.
According to the State Department's own reporting in their 2022 report on Global Terrorism, PDF, none of the top ten terrorist groups, ranked by fatalities, were connected to Iran. However, there is evidence that some of them, maybe all of them, had received funding or weapons from Israel or US (USAID, NED, CIA).

When you look at the 2023 year's data, (albeit non-comparable) four out of the top ten (Hamas, Hizballah, the Houthi movement/Ansar Allah, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad) are funded by Iran, making it the single largest funder of terrorism. 2023 is an anomalous year because of the Hamas event in October. The largest funder of Hamas at the time was Qatar, under funding arranged by Israel. Iran, of course, was the second largest funder. Other than 2023, Hamas' total was negligible. Difficult to draw conclusions from a single anomalous year.
I guess one could say every year is an anomalous year. Here's 2021, where the Taliban, the runaway number one winner for that year, is funded by Iran.

Same thing is true for 2020. The Taliban has almost 3 times the fatalities of the second-place group.
Next, this is not all of the groups Iran funds. They include an array of Iraqi Shia militias and other regional proxies such as Kata’ib Hezbollah, Asa’ib Ahl al‑Haq, Harakat Hezbollah al‑Nujaba, and various "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" factions, as well as smaller Palestinian and regional groups.
U.S. and allied government reports describe Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as providing funding, weapons, and training to these organizations, but the annex tables aggregate them under broader labels or country‑level conflict statistics rather than reporting separate annual death totals for each proxy.
On the flip-side, Israel has obviously killed more people since 2021 than all the other terror groups combined. Yet, they seem to keep regenerating, although at slower pace.
Course, you always gotta take gubermint statistics with a dose of salt.
