While it is needed all that will do is give the Democrats a win as the conservatives will be divided like when Perot ran for president.

Best way to do this is get 80% of the incumbent reps and senators out next election

It seems to me that, we the people, who have been the backbone of America for 249 years and have made it what it is, are always getting labeled and pigeon-holed.  First we were called "Conservatives," then "The Right," followed by "The Tea Party," and more recently "MAGA."

Maybe we're getting tired of being labeled and just want our voices heard.  After all, we have the greatest number of sane voices.

I noticed that one of those X posts was from a "parody account", whatever that is, so I'm going to sit back and watch, see if this thing even actually gets off the ground... or if it's just more smoke being blown up our asses.

I'd almost throw it to the Leftists. At least with them, you know going in, as soon as they're elected, that they're going to do shit you'll have to fight them over. You never expect to have to fight your own people, the ones who are supposedly on YOUR side. You think they'll go to Washington and fight FOR you, rather than against you. It's a rude awakening when they get there, and don't, and you see that they're just Leftist Lite, commies who are just afraid to declare their major.

Yup, I'm still pissed over getting shafted in their Big Bulbous Bill. I expect I will be for a few years to come... or until they fix what they fucked up in it. Whichever comes first.

ETA: I'm not alone. I've been hearing a lot of American gun owners saying things along the lines of "yeah, I'm gonna remember what those double-dealing bastards did to us come mid-terms." If you're not going to do something, then don't say you are. Don't try to bait us in by saying you are, and then pulling the goddamned rug out from under us at the last minute.

Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has officially launched a new political party, announcing the formation of the America Party in a July 5 post on his social media platform X.
“Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,” Musk wrote, following a poll he posted a day earlier asking his followers whether they would support such an initiative.
“Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system,” Musk wrote on July 4. “Should we create the America Party?”
Musk’s poll found that 65.4 percent of respondents favored establishing the America Party. The announcement of the new party was made following Musk’s fierce criticism of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a sweeping measure signed into law by President Donald Trump on July 4.
Musk’s opposition to the bill stems largely from its deficit-financed spending. A staunch advocate of fiscal restraint, he championed reining in government spending during his involvement in Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative. The Congressional Budget Office has projected that the reconciliation budget measure will add approximately $3.25 trillion to the deficit over a decade.
Since early June, Musk has teased the idea of a new political party aimed at what he describes as the “80 percent in the middle.” A poll he shared on June 5 showed about 80 percent of respondents agreeing that the country needs a new political force—an outcome Musk called “fate.”
The following day, Musk embraced a suggestion to name the party the “America Party,” echoing the branding of his existing political organization, America PAC. Launched last year, America PAC was created to support candidates aligned with what Musk calls “the core values of America,” including secure borders, sensible spending, safe cities, a fair justice system, self-protection, and free speech.
Musk’s frustration with the One Big Beautiful Bill has been evident in recent weeks. On June 30, he vowed to challenge any Republican lawmakers who voted in favor of the measure.
“Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame!” Musk said in a post on X. “And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.”
During the 2024 election cycle, Musk contributed nearly $300 million to Republican campaigns through America PAC, including substantial support for Trump’s presidential bid. Although he has signaled plans to reduce his political donations going forward, Musk has indicated he remains willing to invest in causes he deems critical.
Now, with the launch of the America Party, Musk appears poised to transform his political influence from funding candidates to building an alternative movement to challenge the America’s two-party system.
Musk’s push for a new political movement also follows a public feud with Trump, who has bristled at Musk’s outspoken opposition to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and his threat to primary any lawmaker supporting it.
Trump recently took aim at Musk on social media, suggesting that DOGE—the agency Musk once advised—should scrutinize the billions in government subsidies received by Musk’s companies, including SpaceX and Tesla.
The two men once found common cause in promoting government efficiency, with Musk serving a 130-day stint as a special government employee under the Trump administration to help root out waste and fraud.

I agree with 727Sky, a third party, a strong one, will divide the conservatives, making it harder for them to conquer the Democrats. Personally, I like Libertarians and feel more like them than I do with the conservative party I chose, but I don't want to throw away my vote anymore. We can't become divided and conquered, it is one of the dirty tricks they use.

Actually, the Democrats are weak now, and if they split up, they will be weaker yet. We have to stop them from counting the illegals in the next census because that will give them an unfair advantage in their districts. Illegals are real, they exist and live in Democrat cities, but their body count should only be used to plan ICE raids, not enhance the Democrat power base. They aren't citizens, they can't legally vote, but they can count in the census, and that boost will last until the next census is taken again.

I love the idea of a 3rd party, it remains to be seen if it can capture more than Ross Perot's 19% of the popular vote but zero electoral votes.

The 2 party system is entrenched; it will likely take major reform for the American Party to get a foothold in the two-party-dominated system.

Feels like it just would power up Congress' influence.
